BACKGROUND

Born and raised in North Carolina, I’ve always loved the outdoors, hiking, biking, waterfall jumping...anything to keep me out of the house! I loved riding my BMX and from 2009-2017 I thought that was where my future lay. When my girlfriend introduced me to Spartan racing in late summer of 2017, my focus shifted and there’s been no looking back. I’m a proud father to my namesake, a Class A truck driver by night and a Championship OCR athlete in the making by day. I started training in January of 2018 and set my sights on earning an age group podium at the Spartan Race World Championships in Lake Tahoe.

Q&A

What was your first obstacle race and why did you do it? Spartan Asheville Sprint 2017. My girlfriend is an OCR racer and I went with her to the venue but had no idea what it was. After going to the Open House the night before the race, I decided to sign up. I had no gear of my own so I raced in my girlfriend’s shoes and a pair of Reebok shorty race shorts we got at Dick's Sporting Goods just as they were about to close.

What drives you to compete? I like to win and to see how much physical hell I can put my body through.

If you could run an obstacle race anywhere in the world, where would it be? Hawaii

What interesting fact do most fans of OCR not know about you? I have never drank, smoked or done any type of drug in my life and never will.

Who is one of the OCR athletes you admire most and why? Kevin Gillotti - his work ethic and no bullshit lifestyle relates directly to me. Also Jason Wood because dude has a lot of muscle to be moving that fast. LOL For REAL. He's become a good personal friend and someone I love to compete against.

If you hadn't found OCR, in what sport(s) would you be competing? Still grinding on the streets with a kids bike!

What are your goals with OCR? Age Group World Champion and future Elite World Champion.
